Qualification Guidelines
The following qualifications must be met for
nominees to be considered for Canada's CFO of
the Year Award.
- Candidates will be Chief
Financial Officers or Heads of Finance.
- Candidates will be Canadian
citizens or landed immigrants and current residents
of Canada.
- The minimum period of
service for the CFO in his or her current role
will be three years.
- Detailed financial information
will be provided to support the nomination as indicated in the
Submission Requirements section.
- The corporate context
in which the CFO functions will be considered
in assessing potential candidates, including:
transparency of financial reporting; highest
standards of corporate behaviour; non-aggressive
accounting practices; and commitment to good
corporate governance consistent with current
standards and evolving guidelines.
- All nominations must
be validated and endorsed by the nominee and
the nominee's Chief Executive Officer.
- Sponsoring organizations,
affiliates or their representatives cannot be
considered for the Award.
- There will be a 10-year
grace period before another CFO from the same
company can be considered for the Award.
