David Garofalo

Mr. Garofalo has been with Agnico-Eagle Mines since 1998. Before joining Agnico-Eagle, Mr. Garofalo served as Treasurer of Inmet Mining Corporation, an international mining company. Mr. Garofalo serves on the Boards of Directors of Agnico-Eagle and Stornoway Diamond Corporation. Mr. Garofalo is a graduate of the University of Toronto (B.Comm.) and a Chartered Accountant.
Bruce Waterman
Agrium Inc.
Canada's CFO of the Year™ for 2008
Mr. Waterman joined Agrium in 2000, and has more than 25 years of experience as a financial executive. He is a member of Agrium's executive team responsible for corporate strategy and M&A activity and oversees Agrium's financial and information management activities with direct responsibility for financial reporting, treasury, tax information technology, investor relations, and government and corporate affairs. In his time with Agrium, Mr. Waterman has built and maintained a strong financial team and is a champion of continually seeking and implementing improvement initiatives.
Marvin Romanow
Nexen Inc.
Canada's CFO of the Year™ for 2007
Mr. Romanow was appointed Vice-President, Finance of Nexen Inc. in June 1997; Chief Financial Officer in February 1998; Senior Vice President, Finance & Chief Financial Officer in February of 1999; and Executive Vice-President & Chief Financial Officer on June 1, 2001.
He has over 25 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. Prior to his current position, Mr. Romanow was with Wascana Energy Inc., first as Vice-President, Planning and Development and then for five years as Vice-President, Exploration and Production. Prior to joining Wascana, he was with Amoco Canada as Manager, Finance and Dome Petroleum holding positions in Engineering, Operations, Finance and Planning.
Mr. Romanow holds a Masters of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Engineering degree with Great Distinction, both from the University of Saskatchewan.
Mr. Romanow is a Director of the Canadian Energy Research Institute and the Private Sector Sponsors of CERI. He is Nexen’s representative on the board of directors of Canexus Income Trust and the Syncrude oil sands venture.
Marvin is a native of the community of Canora in southeast Saskatchewan. He is an avid golfer and world traveller, a committed husband and dedicated father with four children aged 21, 18, 17 and 12. He is active in the community and was Calgary chair of the University of Saskatchewan’s capital campaign.
Karen E. Maidment
BMO Financial Group
Canada's CFO of the Year™ for 2006
Karen E. Maidment is Chief Financial and Administrative Officer of BMO Financial Group reporting to BMO’s President and Chief Executive Officer. She also serves on the Management Board Executive Committee.
Ms. Maidment is responsible for BMO Financial Group’s financial strategy, financial reporting and planning, taxation, treasury, investor relations, legal and compliance, corporate communications, economics, and enterprise risk and portfolio management.
Ms. Maidment began her career in 1981 with Clarkson Gordon and in 1988 joined Clarica Life Insurance Company, formerly Mutual Life of Canada. Prior to joining BMO Financial Group, Ms. Maidment was Chief Financial Officer at Clarica, playing a leadership role in the demutualization of the company and in the first initial public offering in Canada for demutualized insurers. Ms. Maidment joined BMO in October, 2000 as Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer and was appointed Senior Executive Vice-President in 2003.
Ms. Maidment graduated from Galt Collegiate Institute in 1977 and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McMaster University. She became a chartered accountant in 1983 and was made a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in early 2000.
She is married with two sons and lives in Cambridge, Ontario. Active in community affairs, Ms. Maidment has served as President, Canadian Federation of University Women and Waterloo-Wellington Chartered Accountants Association and served on the Board of Cambridge Chamber of Commerce. In 2001 Ms. Maidment received YWCA Women of Distinction Award and for the last three consecutive years Ms. Maidment has been included in the Financial Post's “Power 50” list of top Canadian businesswomen. She is currently honorary chair of the Easter Seals’ Ball.
In February, 2004, she was honored by McGill University with their Management Achievement Award in recognition of outstanding Canadian business leadership and personal community involvement. In April, 2004, Ms. Maidment received the Wayne C. Fox Distinguished Alumni Award from McMaster University's Michael G. Degroote School of Business. |
